Thanks for sharing this with everybody. Feels not being alone... Trying hard to collect spirits to introduce something similar (summary of things done during the week) in my practice. Just waiting for something more major to happen to take off a good start :)

SUE! wonderful blog today. I was getting ready to comment about use of FileMaker Pro for your database when I checked out Flick...it looks great...and works on Mac Whoo-Hoo. Beautiful interface. As a semi-retired graphic designer I know I could have designed my own filemaker, but with this available WHY spend hours I could be in the studio! And now if I can just finish Mr. Leslie B. DeMille's website...I'll be blogging about it as soon as he approves it.

Enjoyed your post -- a thoughtful and good approach to all the economic gloom and doom that is floating about our heads and ankles. As a self-supporting artist/teacher it is easy to let our fears take control -- gee, is ANYONE going to have money to buy art or art classes. But, so far it's worked, I quit my last fulltime J.O.B. (even that was a creative artsy one, but still) 10 years ago at 50, now at 60 I can say I have been living my dream and I certainly haven't eaten too little, lived unsafely or gone unclothed!

Sue,

I am so glad I am a subscriber to your blog. I went to bed pondering some issues and am feeling groggy, slow, and not too motivated this morning. Your post is encouraging to me to persevere, stay on track, and linger in the long list of gratitude. I echo many of your sentiments here. Thanks! Have a blessed creative day!

What a wonderful post. So true and so much good advice for us all. We need time off to grow! Joining the Chamber of Commerce has been very good for me in some ways I hadn't expected! And now they sponsor a Wet Paint bringing much attention to the local artists! Take a look at Flick for a database for artists at http://www.arawak.com.au/at
It's inexpensive, easy to use, and good for managing everyhting but the money part (I use Quicken) of an art business.

I always revisit my painting technique and skills when sales fall off. That really is the key, as you stated so well. Good art sells.
Love,
Linda
